Patty Brard appeared on SBS6's talk show HLF8, which drew 226.000 viewers (market share: 5.1%) on December 16th.
A recent scoop by the Volkskrant newspaper, which revealed Matthijs van Nieuwkerk's behind-the-scenes tyranny, caused a sensation in Dutch media. Last month, the diva discussed the accusations against Van Nieuwkerk on SBS6's infotainment news program "Shownieuws" and said the controversial talk show host should quit his job on television.
Rumours have been circulating about a TV personality from RTL who acted like Van Nieuwkerk. The Dutch broadcaster NOS is now investigating complaints about the editorial staff of Studio Sport.
On December 1st, Dutch media news site "Mediacourant.nl" insinuated that Patty Brard was the Matthijs van Nieuwkerk of SBS6. In April 2011, the Dutch media (including Story, AD, FOK!, SpitsNieuws and Totaal TV) reported that the ex-Luv' singer terrorised Shownieuws' editorial staff. But this scandal was rapidly forgotten for more than eleven years.
La Brard talked about her past problems with Shownieuws on HLF8. "I think it has got to do with how things happen structurally. I remember an incident with Shownieuws' editorial staff. I arrived at the office at three o'clock in the afternoon, and nothing was written in the script. It's my head that appears on TV at six o'clock. So I flipped and screamed at everybody. But it happened years ago. I can be very scary in this situation. But I normally never go crazy," Patty said.
