On November 18th, Patty Brard talked about TV personality Matthijs van Nieuwkerk on SBS6's infotainment program "Shownieuws". The Volkskrant newspaper previously revealed his dark side behind the scenes. Van Nieuwkerk seems to be a tyrant with his team. "I think Matthijs van Nieuwkerk should say more than "I'm sorry". If he misbehaved, his next sentence should be: "I quit", Patty said. The former Luv' singer thought it was bizarre that Matthijs wanted to see employees apologize on their knees. "Jesus, it went too far. He was cruel to the editorial staff and nice to the guests on his talk show," she added.
But the diva forgot that she had to face the same accusations in April 2011 after the Dutch media (including Story, AD, FOK!, SpitsNieuws and Totaal TV) reported that she terrorised Shownieuws' editorial staff. One month later, SBS6 did not renew its contract with the larger-than-life celebrity who had to leave Shownieuws. After a twenty-month hiatus, she went back to the entertainment news show.
In May 2019, a few weeks after the signature of her four-year contract with Talpa Network (owner of SBS6), Dutch media news site "Mediacourant.nl" mentioned tensions between Patty and Jan Versteegh on SBS6's infotainment program "6 Inside". In late May 2019, SBS6 stopped the broadcast of "6 Inside" due to weak viewing figures.
Miss Brard should put her house in order before criticising Matthijs van Nieuwkerk.
