La Brard's latest adventures on TV: Shownieuws/Khalid & Sophie/De Top 4000 Muziekquiz

The Dutch audience measurement company, Nationaal Media Onderzoek, publishes "total video audience data" with enhanced insights into what viewers watch, including in-home online video consumption and media behaviour on smart TVs, tablets, smartphones, and computers in addition to regular TV viewing figures. The definitive viewing figures are communicated weekly.

Shownieuws

Here are the latest viewing figures of SBS6's infotainment news program "Shownieuws", featuring Patty Brard as a showbiz expert:

  • November 24th: 408.000 viewers/market share: 16.5%

  • November 25th: 549.000 viewers/market share: 18.3%

  • November 27th: 398.000 viewers/market share: 17.8%

  • December 8th: 403.000 viewers/market share: 14.8%

  • December 9th: 502.000/market share: 15.6%

  • December 17th: to be communicated

Among the items Patty and her team discussed:

  • Matthijs van Nieuwkerk's bad looks (December 8th)

Dutch TV personality Matthijs van Nieuwkerk recently signed a four-year lucrative contract with RTL 4 and gave an apology interview on RTL Boulevard. The former DWDD presenter was criticized for his bad looks. Last year, the Volkskrant newspaper revealed his tyrannical behaviour towards his team.

The ex-Luv' singer judged Van Nieuwkerk. "He looked very bad. He looks ten years older and unhappy. The makeup was horrible, too. I would have fired the lighting technician and the hairdresser if I were him," she said.

The pot calling the kettle black. La Brard seemed to forget that in the past, she was considered the "Matthijs van Nieuwkerk of SBS6" as she terrorized Shownieuws' editorial staff.

Moreover, gossip columnist and Patty's rival, Yvonne Coldeweijer, declared earlier this year that she was about to reveal a major scandal about the prima donna, according to a "reliable source" she didn't name. Nothing materialized to this day.

  • Gerard Joling's girlfriends' holiday in Gran Canaria (December 9th)

  • André jr. and Roxeanne Hazes about to reconcile? (December 17th)

Patty confirmed that André and his sister Roxeanne were on speaking terms again. The two have a common enemy: their mother, Rachel, who declared war in the latest issue of Story magazine.

Is Patty relevant on "Khalid & Sophie"?

The December 8th episode of the BNNVARA/NPO 1's talk show "Khalid & Sophie" featured Patty as a sidekick and drew 615.000 viewers (market share: 15.3%). Media experts are surprised that the Shownieuws star regularly appears in a program which often deals with topical issues like the current Israel–Hamas war. The talk show host, Khalid Kasem, cut Patty off quite abruptly several times. The diva was only allowed to discuss Matthijs van Nieuwkerk's comeback. "I find it surprising that he (Matthijs) signed with RTL at this precise moment. Many people also find it disrespectful to the victims, who were insulted by him," La Brard said.

Victor Vlam, who made his breakthrough this year as the male version of Angela de Jong, wrote on X: "I think it is an attempt to appear less elitist. She (Patty) is a real SBS 6 face. By his body language, Khalid had little interest in her comments on Matthijs."

Patty and other celebrities appeared on the December 10th episode of "De Top 4000 Muziekquiz", hosted by Gerard Ekdom on SBS6. The panel game attracted 763.000 viewers (market share: 14.3%). Patty and Tim Klijn played in Team Red, while Johan Derksen and Hélène Hendriks played in Team Blue.

Here's a funny excerpt from the program during which Patty recognizes a song, but cannot remember the artist and the title song. The correct answer was "Crying At The Discothèque" by Alcazar, a dance classic from 2000 based on a sample of the 1979 disco hit "Spacer" by Sheila & B. Devotion (who were Luv's label mates during their heyday). Patty first hummed the song's chorus ("He's a spaaacer!") and gave the wrong answer (Sheila E. (Prince's protégée) instead of Sheila (the legendary French chanteuse).
