Shownieuws feat. Patty Brard: viewing figures in a special context + discussing "Kremers Vs Gillis"

Yesterday, SBS6's infotainment news program "Shownieuws", featuring Patty Brard as a showbiz expert, drew 465.000 viewers (market share: 21,7%). It reached #9 on SKO's Dag Top 25 (the daily list of the 25 most popular TV shows conceived by Dutch audience measurement company Stichting KijkOnderzoek).

However, yesterday (June 17th) was the worst day in terms of viewing figures in the history of Dutch television. Even if Shownieuws was on SKO's Top 10, all the shows, whatever the channel, scored bad TV ratings. The audience share, the percentage of Dutch people aged six and older who watched TV, was extremely low and fell to only 13.9%. Even NPO 1's 8.00 pm TV news program barely exceeded a million viewers.

Patty Brard and the Shownieuws team discussed the battle between the controversial Dutch entrepreneur Peter Gillis and his ex, Nicol Kremers. Last year, Gillis, famous for the SBS6's high-rated show "Familie Gillis: Massa is Kassa", was accused of mistreating Kremers. The case against Gillis will be heard in August. Nicol has hired the well-known lawyer Sébas Diekstra.

"Nicol and her lawyer decided to file ten reports for assault and threats. These incidents occurred over four and a half years," Patty said.
