Patty Brard's latest appearances on Shownieuws: viewing figures and items discussed

SBS6's infotainment news program "Shownieuws", featuring Patty Brard as a showbiz expert, drew 424.000 viewers (market share: 18.5%) on February 24th and 423.000 viewers (market share: 13.6%) on February 25th.

Among the items the former Luv' singer and her colleagues discussed during the February 24th broadcast:

  • Rachel and Roxeanne's legal dispute about André Hazes' legacy

Rachel, the widow of the Dutch singing legend André Hazes, appeared recently in court in Utrecht to handle the summary proceedings initiated by daughter Roxeanne. The 30-year-old singer stated that her mother was disinherited just before her father's death, which could mean that Rachel spent years taking advantage of an estate that belongs to André Jr. and Roxeanne.

Rachel refused to hand over documents proving that she was André's heir. According to Rachel's lawyer, Roxeanne was allowed to see the documents in attendance of her lawyer, and she could not make notes or copies. Rachel's legal team stated that it had been offered several times to view all documents at an accountant's office. Rachel's lawyers said: "there seemed to be mainly Roxeanne's inability to want to understand the pieces".

The court delivered its verdict on February 23rd: Rachel was allowed to continue exploiting the intellectual property rights of André Hazes, even though she is not an heir according to the will. According to the court, Roxeanne was too late in submitting her claims in these interim proceedings because she already knew in 2020 that her mother was not an heir. According to De Telegraaf, André's two children from his first marriage might join Rox's fight against Rachel.

Patty Brard defended Roxeanne several times in the Dutch tabloid press and on Shownieuws. It's no secret that Story magazine's editor-in-chief Guido den Aantrekker, who also works on Shownieuws, maintains close ties with Rachel. Recently, Den Aantrekker criticized Roxeanne. Story wrote that the young singer was "socially awkward". La Brard reacted to this rude remark and came to Roxeanne's rescue. "I think that's unfair when people say she is solitary and has a very limited social circle. I often phone her. She's a very normal and sweet girl, who is indeed not everyone's friend but isn't shy of people or anything," Patty said.

  • Pregnant Eva Jinek's future

2023 will be an exciting year for journalist and talk show host Eva Jinek. Not only is she expecting a second child, but her lucrative contract with RTL is also coming to an end. Her program "Jinek" on RTL 4 didn't achieve the desired viewing figures. "At the end of this year, she is supposed to negotiate a new contract with RTL. How will she do it while feeding her baby? We have someone else in mind who I think might take her place," Patty explained. The Shownieuws team named Leonie ter Braak, Humberto Tan, Renze Klamer and Beau van Erven Dorens as potential replacements for Eva Jinek.

  • André Hazes Jr and Monique Westenberg

Late 2022 saw André's reunion with Monique. After the couple's recent Instagram stories from the Schipol airport, the Shownieuws crew thought the two lovebirds were not "happy together again". Patty and her colleagues explained that they looked grumpy in pictures they posted on social media.
