Among the showbiz items La Brard and her team discussed:
* Rachel and Roxeanne's legal dispute about André Hazes' legacy - February 9th
Rachel Vs Roxeanne
Rachel, the widow of the Dutch singing legend André Hazes, appeared in court in Utrecht to handle the summary proceedings initiated by daughter Roxeanne. The 30-year-old singer stated that her mother was disinherited just before her father's death, which could mean that Rachel spent years taking advantage of an estate that belongs to André Jr. and Roxeanne.
Rachel refused to hand over documents proving that she was André's heir. According to Rachel's lawyer, Roxeanne was allowed to see the documents in attendance of her lawyer, and she could not make notes or copies. Rachel's legal team stated that it had been offered several times to view all documents at an accountant's office. Rachel's lawyers said: "there seemed to be mainly Roxeanne's inability to want to understand the pieces".
Patty Brard revealed on Shownieuws that these statements disturbed Roxeanne very much. "It's a difficult situation. Roxeanne and I were on the phone earlier today. She didn't appreciate that Rachel's lawyers said "there was an inability on the part of Roxeanne to want to understand the documents," Patty said.
"The word "inability" really irritated her, as if she was a crazy person. I don't think Royce de Vries (Rachel's lawyer) meant to be brutal. His choice of words was harsh," the ex-Luv' member added.
Miss Brard didn't understand why Rachel was so difficult about releasing the pieces. "If you have nothing to hide, why don't you give it? Maybe I'm very naive about this," she asserted. The Prima Donna expects Roxeanne's brother, André Jr., to eventually team up with his sister after the "Holland zingt Hazes" concerts at the Ziggo Dome are over.
Patty strongly criticized Rachel. "I can't imagine that when you are a mother, you have two children, two grandchildren, and so much money that this is how you spend your life. I can't imagine it," Miss Brard sneered.
* Glennis Grace's community service - February 11th
On February 12th, 2022, Glennis Grace was arrested, along with two other persons, on suspicion of assaulting Jumbo supermarket employees in Amsterdam. She was kept in custody for three days, after which she was released on February 15th, 2022. She was formally charged on February 22nd, 2022. The "America's Got Talent" finalist was sentenced to 200 hours of community service on November 9th, 2022. The talented vocalist shocked the Netherlands with the place she chose to do her community service. "We called Glennis to know where she would do her community service. She told us she chose to do it in the nursing home where her father spent the final period of his life. It's very emotional to do it there. She thinks it's very special that she's allowed to do it. She refuses to tell when she does it because she doesn't want the media to film her. She is happy to work with people who eased her father's pain," Patty explained.
* Linda's sex toy line - February 13th
Linda de Mol's women's magazine, LINDA., launched a sex toy line last week. Dutch celebrities (including April Darby, Beertje van Beers and Susan Smit) attended the launch party. Susan Smit refused to talk about her intimacy. Her prudishness surprised Patty. "What I find striking is that everyone knew they were going to the launch of this sex toy line, but the ladies themselves were quite reluctant and almost prudish," the larger-than-life TV personality said.
La Brard then spoke about the use of dildos without taboo: "I appreciate that people accept it more and more because it's part of our sexuality. I don't understand people who refuse to admit they use dildos. This is not taboo to me. Well, I don't put it on my bedside table either. Do you understand? This is absolutely normal". She also mentioned international celebrities who launched sexual accessories: "Gwyneth Paltrow made candles called "This Smells Like My Vagina" and Kourtney Kardashian launched vagina gummies which promise to turn "your pussy cat into a sweet treat".
* Marco Borsato comeback? - February 17th
Marco Borsato fell into disgrace in late 2021 after claims of sexual misconduct with underage girls who were contestants on The Voice Kids. Patty Brard thought that after this scandal, the singer should be inspired by Lil Kleine's comeback strategy: "I think this strategy is really appropriate. Lil Kleine remained silent and had a big hit that fans hooked up with, and the backlash disappeared. All it takes is one hit. Marco Borsato should release a new single".
* Linda de Mol and Jeroen Rietbergen in Paris - February 18th
In early 2022, Dutch broadcaster RTL 4 pulled "The Voice of Holland" off the air after a local investigative news program reported multiple claims of misconduct and abuse over more than a decade by two celebrity judges on the show — Marco Borsato and Ali B. — as well as the show’s bandleader, Jeroen Rietbergen. The latter had a long love relationship with Dutch TV star Linda de Mol, which ended due to The Voice controversy. Recently, Linda and Jeroen were caught in Paris. Entertainment news channels on social media previously informed that the couple was reunited and travelled through Chile and South Africa in recent months and later returned to Europe. A Shownieuws viewer recognized the controversial couple in a famous café in Paris and took a photo of the lovebirds. Linda reacted to the publication of this picture and said "it was a private matter". The Shownieuws crew was surprised that the couple was spotted in a well-known place. "Yes, it happened at Les Deux Magots. If you don't care anymore, you should sit there because you know you will be spotted. At least, there is a good chance that Dutch people are present there," Patty said.
* Roy Donders forbids questions about sexual orientation - February 18th
Dutch reality star and singer Roy Donders caused a sensation when he revealed his relationship with a girl named Michelle last year. Michelle is pregnant by Roy. Donder's gay and flamboyant past is over. "He has decided not to talk about his sexual preferences or orientation in interviews anymore because he thinks it has been discussed enough. He's with Michelle now. She still has a little fear of the camera, and she doesn't do interviews. However, he made a deal with TLC and discovery+ for a reality show about the pregnancy and their child's birth," Patty explained.
Roy and Patty know each other well. They recorded two Carnival duets: "Wat Zijn Ze Lekker" in 2017 and "We Zullen De Laatsten Zijn" in 2018.
