Patty Brard can't forget her Luv' past!

The fact that Patty Brard is not on good terms with the two other original Luv' members, Marga Scheide and José Hoebee, is no news. The SBS6 diva often told in interviews that she didn't want to be associated with the group which made her a household name anymore. She dissed her two former colleagues in her 2020 best-selling memoirs.

However, two recent events showed that the enfant terrible of Dutch showbiz was proud of her Luv' past.

* On November 7th, Miss Brard posted a story on Instagram showing her friend, Francis Rood, owner of the Borrelbar in Amsterdam, who gave her a particular object back: the original platinum record that she received to commemorate the 200.000 copies of "Trojan Horse" in the Netherlands. On May 15th, 1979, Dutch Actor Rijk de Gooyer gave the three Luv' singers this prestigious award at the Lido Club Amsterdam. Patty lost this trophy for years. An employee of a removal firm found it by accident in a client's house and informed Francis Rood about it.

On March 30th, 1994, Patty's possessions were auctioned in The Hague, the Netherlands, due to her bankruptcy. Among them were the 11 gold and platinum singles and albums she received between 1978 and 1980 as a member of Luv' with Marga Scheide and José Hoebee. The "King of Amsterdam Nights" Manfred Langer (owner of the iT Club) bought the gold and platinum certifications for 72.800 Dutch guilders. On November 21st, 1994, he died of cancer. Luv's gold records disappeared, and no one knew where they were after Manfred's death. Many stories about Patty's lost gold records circulated within Luv's fan community.

Last year, Dutch DJ and record producer Ronald Molendijk (Patty's colleague on Shownieuws) and media expert Jaco Peeringa made the diva's dream come true. They arranged to make replicas of Luv's gold and platinum records.

* On November 23rd, Patty sang Luv's signature song, "You're the Greatest Lover", on an Instagram story to thank Monique Smit for her Kidspop karaoke microphone she received as a present. This mic is available in Kruidvat shops.
