Patty Brard on "Shownieuws", "Humberto", "Oh, Wat Een Jaar!" "Khalid & Sophie" & "Even Tot Hier"

Since August 28th, the Dutch audience measurement company, Nationaal Media Onderzoek, has published "total video audience data" with enhanced insights into what viewers watch, including in-home online video consumption and media behaviour on smart TVs, tablets, smartphones, and computers in addition to regular TV viewing figures. The definitive viewing figures are not communicated daily but weekly. In other words, it takes seven long days to evaluate the success or the flop of Dutch TV shows.

Shownieuws

Here are the latest viewing figures of SBS6's infotainment news program "Shownieuws", featuring Patty Brard as a showbiz expert:

  • October 20th: 458.000 viewers/market share: 21.9%

  • October 27th: 485.000 viewers/market share: 19.8%

  • October 28th: 390.000 viewers/market share: 19%

  • November 6th: to be announced

  • November 10th: to be announced

  • November 11th: to be announced

Among the items Patty and her team discussed:

  • Noa Vahle and the private jet scandal (October 27th):

Story magazine revealed that Noa Vahle, Linda de Mol's daughter and John de Mol's niece, was picked up from Greece by a private jet. The 23-year-old TV personality, who recently won the "New Talent" award at the latest Gouden Televizier-Ring Gala (Dutch TV awards), was furious at Story. To prove her innocence, Noa shared a screenshot of her flight booking on social media. Patty defended the young woman. She stated that Story wrote nonsense and that her Shownieuws colleague Guido den Aantrekker (Story's editor-in-chief) should have known this important detail. "I believe that girl... Our director was on the plane with her, so we are sure of it. Check your sources!" the diva said.

  • Patty's criticism of Tim Hofman (October 27th)

Dutch media personality Tim Hofman recently made a report about the armed man who entered the BNNVARA building intending to kill him. Patty accused Tim of sensationalism and said his report was a typical case of "everything for the TV ratings".

  • Glennis Grace's rehabilitation (October 27th)

After her legal problems due to her assault on Jumbo supermarket employees last year in Amsterdam, Dutch singer Glennis Grace wants to rehabilitate her public image. Shownieuws interviewed the controversial and talented vocalist, who admitted that she had more and more bookings for live shows. She attended as a guest the R&B concert John Williams organized at the Rotterdam Ahoy. However, she didn't sing during this event. A striking detail is that her ex-"Ladies of Soul" colleague Edsilia Rombley was also there. "They were both there, but no one saw them communicate with each other. It is nice that everything is going well again," Patty said. "Glennis also told us that she is going back to work on a dinner show, so there is progress. It seems like her career is going uphill again," she added.

  • Netflix's plans for a documentary about Victoria Beckham (October 28th)

  • Best Halloween outfits worn by Dutch and international celebrities (October 28th)

  • Patty's swollen face (November 4th)

The former Luv' singer recently posted a picture of her swollen face on her Instagram story. It caused a sensation among her followers. She put the record straight on Shownieuws. "I had infected eyes, but I had absolutely nothing done to my face there. I had done mesotherapy, which is supposed to facilitate hair growth. Then, I got all kinds of small injections with vitamins and collagen. Instead of taking it easy for a while, I said: 'Just do my whole head," Patty explained. It wasn't the best decision, and the clinic was not professional enough to dose the product. Patty participated in the taping of the RTL 4's game show "Oh, wat een jaar!" which aired on November 4th. She wanted first to cancel her participation due to her infected eyes but finally maintained it.

  • New Shownieuws set (November 6th)

Shownieuws revealed its new set. The anchors and the experts no longer sit in front of a huge green screen, and their stools were exchanged for chairs. Patty was enthusiastic. "Yes, I'm sitting here wonderfully, but I'm part of the furniture. That's the only piece you didn't throw away, it's right here. Hahahaha," the Prima Donna said. "This is a relief. We have a lovely table and finally have nice light on our heads again. It was not the case in that green fishbowl. I find it a lot of fun, and in the end, it's all about the content, right?" she added. Miss Brard expressed satisfaction with the new studio lights. "I know exactly how I look best on camera. People often think I'm the difficult diva who knows exactly what she wants. I don't look good unless the light is full on my face!" she concluded.

"Humberto"

La Brard appeared on the "Back Home' section of Humberto Tan's talk show "Humberto" on RTL 4 on October 23rd. The program drew 578.000 viewers (market share: 17.1%).

Patty and Humberto visited the places related to Miss Brard's past. One of these places was the luxury house where she lived in The Hague and went bankrupt in late 1993. "That was a very low point. There was a moment when I said to myself: "You simply did not take your responsibilities, Patty Brard, because you believed in a fairy tale that was based on nothing at all," she said. "I remember very well that someone said to me: 'Is this your signature?' I answered: "'Yes." This person added: "Then you are also obliged to fulfil your partner's obligations". It was just a drama, but I am very proud that I am here now and survived this," Patty asserted.

The ex-Luv' member was angry at a remark on Humberto's Instagram. "Today, I read a few comments from your Instagram account. I should not have done it. Someone wrote: 'Do we have to go to this house again? We already know this story!' Then I think: you don't know! Because you don't know what kind of hell I went through," Patty explained. "It is true that I was responsible, but if you go bankrupt in the Netherlands, a trustee is appointed, and this person is paid by the hour. A trustee is very concerned that bankruptcy lasts as long as possible because that is what he earns the most from. That's why it took ten years. The tax administration gets paid first, then the trustee and the creditors. In the meantime, you are not allowed to do anything. I don't want to keep whining about that bankruptcy, but you don't know what it does to someone. It changed me a lot. I had to start over, and I am sometimes very proud that I am now sitting here in my leopard suit and still have the entrepreneurial spirit. I'm still busy on television, have my own drama series, and have taken up entrepreneurship," Patty added proudly.

Khalid & Sophie

The November 1st episode of the BNNVARA/NPO 1's talk show "Khalid & Sophie" featured Patty as a guest and drew 743.000 viewers (market share: 17.8%). She discussed Mariah Carey kicking off the Christmas season with a video shared on social media that shows her being defrosted and ready to celebrate, set to the soundtrack of her hit "All I Want For Christmas Is You".

Patty appeared on the November 4th episode of RTL 4's retrotainmentshow "Oh, Wat Een Jaar!", dealing with the year 1975, which attracted 1.053.000 viewers (market share: 21.9%). The program was the third most-watched show on November 4th according to the NMO's Dag Top 25 (the daily list of the 25 most popular TV shows conceived by the Dutch audience measurement company Nationaal Media Onderzoek). Patty was dressed like Diana Ross and Joan Collins.
