Peter Broos has been performing in drag for thirty years, starting as a member of the Luv' lookalike act, Luv' Unlimited. As part of the Luv' community, he performed in drag during fan meetings.

What began as a drag trio evolved initially into the duo RisQGay (also briefly known as RisQué). Since 2021, Peter has continued to perform solo under the stage name Pëtros Éfthafstos while still embodying his other alter ego, RisQGay.

On May 22, Peter shared a heartfelt post on his Facebook artist page, reflecting on over 30 years in the drag scene and looking forward to new adventures. He expressed excitement about the upcoming Summer Pride edition of Norden magazine, where he was recently interviewed and featured in a photo shoot. He also looked forward to being a guest artist at Noord-Brabant's Dazzling Dragartist event. For Peter, performing as RisQGay represents more than just entertainment; it also signifies being a visible, inspiring figure for younger performers, demonstrating that age is not a barrier to staying on stage.

Peter's drag career began over three decades ago with the Luv’-inspired trio Luv' Unlimited and later transitioned to the duo RisQGay. Since 2021, he has been performing solo under his stage names, Pëtros Éfthafstos and RisQGay. Although he often joked about retiring at 40, then 50, he admitted that the stage kept calling him back. His passion for performing and the desire for audience connection proved too strong to ignore.

Despite facing behind-the-scenes struggles, such as creative differences, member changes, and unreliable management, Peter persevered. Much like the original girl group Luv', his act went through several reincarnations. A memorable moment came when the group reunited for a surprise performance during the real Luv's comeback. Peter later chose to pursue a solo career.

Going solo marked a fresh start. Peter began recording cover versions of pop standards, rediscovering the joy of music without the stress of group dynamics. For years, he collaborated with Peter Maliepaard, whose modern beats elevated their performances. More recently, Luciën Vrolijk contributed vibrant remixes, which Peter proudly performed live.

In his post, Peter emphasised that he accepted performance invitations only if they truly appealed to him. Singing live remains a highlight of his work, especially when accompanied by tracks that have evolved alongside him over time.

He took the time to thank those who have supported him along the way:

JVD Recording, for their technical expertise and patience in the studio.

Crystal Queer, who informed him about Norden's interest in interviewing him.

Esther Kuypers, his trusted makeup artist, who always ensured he shone.

– And his partner, who has supported him through everything, from driving to gigs to being there during chaotic backstage moments.

Peter ended his message by teasing a new track he planned to record the following week, keeping the song title a surprise. As he approached his 60th birthday, he jokingly suggested it might be time to stop. But, with a wink, he remarked, "How many times have Luv' and Heintje come back?"

"Performing is still just too much fun," he wrote. "So if you want to book me for your party, just send me a message. Because for now, I'm not done yet."

Here's a recap of Peter's latest cover versions from the past two years:
